Because the ceiling is the whole point of the app, not a paywall I'm hoping you'll push through. If you need to carry a hundred things, that's fine, but a different app will serve you better.

Both take it off your list and open the slot back up. The difference is what's kept afterward. A completed task moves to the Resolved page with its milestones, so you can look back on it or bring it back later if it turns out you weren't done. A closed task is removed for good, which is the right thing when something has stopped mattering and you don't want a record of it hanging around.

A completed task can be brought back from the Resolved page, either carrying on with its original age or starting over as a fresh task from today, milestones included. A closed task can't be brought back. It takes a swipe and then a tap on the Close button, so it's hard to do by accident, but once it's done it's done.

No. Your list lives on the phone you made it on, and that's the design rather than a gap in it. There's no account and nothing in the cloud, which is also why there's nothing to sign up for.

No, it's iPhone only.

No. The app has no accounts and no server, so there's nothing on my end that could hand your data back to you, and I don't intend to add accounts. Your tasks are on your phone, and that's the only copy.

Your tasks never leave your phone. I can't see them, I don't collect them, and there's no analytics running in the app. The only thing that talks to a server is the Pro purchase check, which goes through Apple and RevenueCat and sees an anonymous ID and whether you've bought Pro, nothing about your tasks. The Privacy page has the whole picture.

Those apps are built to capture and organize everything you might ever do, and they're good at it. Unresolved is built to make you pick the handful you're actually going to do and to keep the rest from piling back up. It's a different premise, so it's a different product, and if you're happy with Things you probably don't need this one.

You're at the ceiling. Complete or close something and the Add button comes back.

Because those are the features that turn a task app into a backlog, and the backlog is the thing I was trying to get away from. I left them out on purpose.
